Any comments about doing this copy and turning the feature on. Both laptops were up to date on patches, though my laptop has intel memory chips which may not be the case in the other ACER laptop. Intent would be to go to features and turn them back on. I am considering making a copy of the media player directory another one of my laptops at home. A restore point will not take me back to the point I want. That was the reason I turned off the feature as it was not supposed to delete the player. I decided to check under the Programs fikes (x86) where 2 files were under the WINDOWS MEDIA Player, so I copied those to the folder which made no difference so I removed the 2 files that I copied there. On researching it further I went to the WINDOWS MEDIA Player folder under Programs files which was empty other than a subfolder called Network sharing which was also an empty folder. Thinking it might need to have all three items changed, I unchecked the DVD maker and now that item returns to unchecked along with the other 2 when I go back to the features to turn them on. not all of the features were succesfully changed') and then when I go back to the screen the item is unchecked. After reboot I went back to turn on the media center, but I keep on receiving an error ('An error has occured. I turned off the media player which also unchecked media center. Did some research where I found some suggesting to turn the windows media player features off and then on. Also when going into Itunes, I could not play any tunes.
